MATTER
Is anything that occupies space and has weight.
STATES OF MATTER
1. Solid states
2. Liquid state
3. gaseous state
4. plasma state
1.SOLID STATE
Is the Substance that has a definite shape and size
It is usually hard and not easily deformed
For example: stones, pen, paper, nails, door, etc.
PROPERTIES OF THE SOLID STATE.
i. Has fixed or definite shape
ii. Particles are locked into place, the don't move but vibrate in its position.
iii. Can not be compressible
iv. No free space between particles

Arrangement of particles in a solid
v. Does not flow easily
vi. Has a fixed volume
2.LIQUID STATE
Is the substance that flow easily and have specific (fixed) volumes
It take a shape of the container holding it. For example: water, juice, alcohol, tea paints, blood, oil etc.
PROTERTIES OF LIQUID STATE
i. It take the shape of container holding it
ii. Particles move or slide past one another
iii. It is not easily compressible
iv. Little free space between particles
