Reading is the process of looking at a series of written symbols and getting meaning from them. Hence, reading is an active process of constructing meanings of words. Reading skills refer to the ability to understand written texts. When reading, we have to perform three reading comprehension skills namely;

 Literal comprehension: to identify simple facts in a written text

 Evaluative comprehension: to make judgements about the content to the text

 Inferential comprehension: to connect the text to other written passages and situations

TYPES OF READING

2.Scanning
3.Critical reading
4.Intensive reading
5.Extensive reading
