ROUTINE/HABIT


 Routine is the planned order of activities which are done repeatedly for a long time.
 Personal routines are the planned activities to one person about daily activities or personal matters.
 Group routines are the arranged activities for a group of people usually in schools, offices and organizations.
 A good example of routine is a school timetable.
 Habits are involuntary activities we do repeatedly.

We do not plan to do them.
 Good examples are: laughing, smiling, crying, sneezing, dozing, yawning, bed wetting, dreaming, abusing, vomiting, talking, noise making etc.
 When talking about routine or habit we use the Present Simple Tense.
 This tense is used to show what is done repeatedly.
 The verbs are used in the base form i.e. go, come, sleep, sit, swim, write, jump, see, look, laugh etc.
 Only the third person singular adds ‘s’ or ‘es’
